But it is still worth doing even for short periods, in my opinion. It all comes down to expectations. GC is a longer drive so I wouldn't advise that as a day trip. We plan to drive to Zion the first day, with two nights booked at Zion NP Lodge. 11/18 one night in Bryce. Planning to do a few of the shorter (1-5 mile) hikes in Zion and Bryce. 11/19 and 11/20 are question marks. We did an 11-day road trip last year, from Las Vegas to St. George to Zion (almost 2 full days, staying overnight) --- out to Monument Valley and back to Bryce (staying overnight for almost two full daylight days).
